You refer to the fact that in TM, page 31, a phrase does not appear in a sentence which is published in 'Life Sketches', p.196. There is no occasion for any argument based on this fact. The paragraph which appears in 'Life Sketches', published in 1915, was drawn from a statement appearing in a General Conference Bulletin of 1893 in a communication from the pen of Ellen White written in 1892. The chapter in 'Testimonies to Ministers' in which the first part of this statement appears is a chapter made up of selections from Sister White's writings, the material being gathered in 1922 and published first in a book entitled, 'Christian Experience and Teachings of Ellen G. White', and from this it was used in 'Testimonies to Ministers'. The fact that the full statement was not used in this compilation has no particular significance; in fact, I am inclined to feel that the last phrase was inadvertently overlooked in copying. Inasmuch, however, as it appears in 'Life Sketches', which is a book in current circulation, there is no occasion for any argument. When I have occasion to use this statement, I use it as from 'Life Sketches', which is the statement in ist entirety. ALW
