The source of the story of "only a voice and a message," as told by Elder Rebok in his book is a story which came to us through Elder George B. Starr. I heard him tell it at a campmeeting in Oakland, California, n 1930. Mrs. White and I were both doing secretarial work at that time, and we took down his talks in shorthand and wrote them out. He indicated that he had received the information from Elder Armitage, and I made it a point to talk with him about the matter. Because certain individuals who were the children of the man involved were quite well known in our work, it seemed best not to reveal the names, and I think perhaps it is best now. (Arthur L. White)
