The Great Controversy was completed in Healdsburg, Calif. The foreword of the book bears the date of April, 1888. This is the Ellen G. White introduction to the book, and we would judge that that is about the time the manuscript was completed. It was published in 1888. She began her Volume while living in Europe at our central building in Basel, Switzerland. It actually was an amplification of The Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4, published in 1884. But she did not get the work finished while in Europe. (Arthur L. White)
